Civil Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships
A number of civil ceremony venues are available at Lyrath Estate, depending on how many guests are in attendance. Our 17th century drawing rooms, which form part of Lyrath House, make a unique venue for the civil ceremony itself. The historic rooms can cater for up to 120 guests attending the ceremony. The drawing rooms overlook Lady Charlotte’s formal 17th century gardens. It is a truly picturesque setting and afterwards your guests have the option to toast your happy future on the terrace that runs alongside the gardens.
Our Maginnes & McCurdy Suites are located in the main hotel, each room offers natural daylight overlooking the lakes and you have the freedom to theme these rooms according to your personal taste and budget. Capacities for civil ceremonies & civil partnerships range from 10 to 900 guests, depending on your chosen venue.
For those looking for a civil ceremony with a difference, spiritual ceremonies are possible. These are officiated by Tom Colton a Minister of the Spiritualist Union of Ireland. Tom holds a licence from the General Registrar’s Office and is registered to carry out legal marriages. Spiritual ceremonies can be held in any of the rooms mentioned above or alternatively you can avail of the stunning parkland on the 170 acre estate, our personal recommendation is the breath-taking setting alongside our natural lakes.
To avail of civil ceremony contact the Civil Registration office directly, please note civil ceremonies are generally only conducted Monday to Friday and licences must be applied for in advance.
